Brandy Alexander Imperial XO has had continued world-wide acclaim from its first presentation at the International Exhibition in Paris, in 1900, whereby it received an “Honourable Mention” to its Gold Medal win.
Brandy Alexander’s base is on red wines that have been aged for at least 20 years and are found regionally. Only a small number of bottles are produced each year.
Its distinct sweetness is embellished in this soft and elegant brandy that follows with a smooth and balanced finish – typical to brandies made with fortified wines (in thie case fortified with Samos sweet wine) in Greece. This brandy is in the highest category of brandies, having been aged for twice the time required to fulfil criteria of XO (see brandy classifications below)
We are fortunate to be the sole suppliers in the UK of this very special brand of Greek brandy, which is made by arguably the best (and certainly the oldest) Greek distillary, located in Kalamata, and still a family-run business. In addition, in 1900 the company was awarded the Silver Cross of the Royal Knights of Order for its service in representing Greek Spirits industry domestically and abroad.
