The harvest this year was small but the quality is superb, with low acidity and high healthy polyphenols. Olive oil of this quality is extremely hard to find this year due to extreme weather conditions which have affected global olive oil production and prices. Due to the fact that we have our own meticulously managed and irrigated private olive estate, we have maintained our standards despite the odds. We are doing our best to keep prices as low as possible.
The koroneiki olives are hand picked just as the olives are turning from green to black, and pressed the same day. The resulting oil is:
Indeed, Nigella has rated it as one of her 5 kitchen essentials! It is also a favourite of masterchef winners Thomasina Miers, Irini Tzortzoglou and is a long-term favourite of many of our regular and loyal customers.
This oil has won Silver medal in the London International Olive Oil Competition, and reached the final 10 of organic products (across all groceries, not just olive oil) in the 2023 UK Soil Association Boom ("Best of Organic") Awards.
