This superb beautifully balanced oil has just arrived from Crete. Produced in the famous protected designation of origin region of Thrapsano, a semi-mountainous region in central Crete, whose rich volcanic soil and microclimate is an ideal setting for the koroneiki olives. The koroneiki olives are harvested in December and January, as ripening takes place more slowly in this region of Crete. The result is a gentle bitter sweet oil with a fresh grassy aroma and a light green-golden colour. 

Cretan House Gold is a versatile oil for every day use in  aw dressings and in all kinds of cooking. 

Whilst it is not certified organic (hence the lower price mark than our Cretan Liquid Gold Organic Reserve), the olives are grown organically and the region is a PDO due to the quality of the oil.
