Discover KretaRaki, our Cretan raki, traditionally known as tsikoudia. Produced for us by the Stamatakis family at DS Distillery in northern Crete, this double-distilled grape marc spirit brings a tradition of Cretan hospitality to your table.
Origin and tradition
The Stamatakis family grows and harvests the grapes, distils the spirit and bottles its raki on-site. Made each autumn, KretaRaki follows the journey from vine to bottle on a single estate.
Grape marc is the skins, seeds and pulp left after pressing grapes for wine. Double distillation creates this traditional Cretan spirit, similar in style to Italian grappa. Sharing raki is an expression of filoxenia, the Cretan tradition of hospitality.
Grape varieties
KretaRaki is made from Soultani, Tahta, Liatiko and Kotsifali grapes, all grown in the distillery's own vineyards.
How to serve
Enjoy neat, slightly chilled or over ice, alongside mezze, olives or aged cheese. Serve after a meal, or try in cocktails with honey syrup, lemon juice and fresh thyme.
