This gorgeously bright multicoloured kilim is 100% wool, with all natural vegetable dyes. The geometric fish pattern is a typical design for the tribes making these rugs and the floral border is another typical design for rugs of this age.
Please note there are a couple of small holes in the rug, which are not easily visible when the rug is laid out, but any buyer would be advised to arrange for specialist repair; if desired, we can arrange for this to be done for cost price. The holes are shown in the final 2 images. A 25% discount has been added to account for these. A superb rare rug.
Qashqai: Qashqai rugs are woven by nomads who live in the mountainous areas of Southwest Persia, the provinces of Fars, Khuzestan, south of Isfahan and around the city Shiraz. Their rugs have a high knot density and a wide variety of designs, usually in deep red and blue colours. They weave rugs, Kilims and decorative textiles (ribbons, bags, etc.), which depict scenes from their lives with various representation of humans, animals, birds, trees and flowers.
