These incredible knives are hand made in a traditional knife-maker's workshop in central Crete. The handles are made from an entire horn of a wild kri-kri mountain goat (these animals are protected, and are never hunted, but the horns are collected from the mountains by shepherds after they have died naturally). the knife blades are of superb quality, made of premium stainless steel, and of varying length and thickness depending on the size of the horn. The blade is inscribed with a Cretan proverb. In Cretan traditional society knives are usually given from father or grandfather to male offspring, between brother, between best friends etc. A unique decorative piece or collector's item.. They are also of course functional knives, but the horn shape of the handles are not designed to be used in every day situations.
Please note that the images are indications of the size and general design, as each knife is unique. The measurement indicates the length of the blade.
