A selection of the famous Samos Dessert Wines
The island of SAMOS has been producing wines for 3000 years, and is a protected designation of origin. The wines are produced from the Samos Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains grapes, cultivated on the slopes of Mount Ambelos, on the traditional tiered terraces (pezoules) up to an altitude of 900 meters with every hectare carefully controlled for a low yield. All vineyards are members of the Union of Vinicultural Cooperatives of Samos.
The three sweet wines are very distinctive and have each won international acclaim. The biggest importer of these tremendous wines is France!
