PGI “Letrini”, Dry red. A delicious wine made from Refosco and Mavrodaphne grapes. Deep red colour, perfumes of red fruits, with hints of chocolate and coffee, in harmony with the vanilla and cinnamon from the wood.

With a medium, but structured body, and full, but fine tannins, the wine goes well with roasted red and white meats, casseroles with tomato sauce and with hard cheeses.

Matured for a year in French oak barrels, &rested for > 6 months in the bottle. Annual production ~ 35,000 bottles. Drink now to 5- 8 years.

Only 2500 bottles per year are made of this very special wine from Kefalonia!

A wine from the local variety, dry Kefalonian Mavrodaphne. A very dark, almost black wine with intense, multi red fruit aromas with hints of licorice and wild mint. Rich, complex and impressive in the mouth with soft, rounded tannins and a very long and pleasant aftertaste.

A rare and amazing Greek red made from the mavrotragano grape which had virtually disappeared until Haridimos Hatzidakis revived it. Intense bright fresh wild berry fruit bouquet, with hints of chocolate, tobacco this red is evocative of Santorini's unique volcanic soil and climate with lovely balance and freshness. A wine that grows in the glass and will happily age for 20 years.

A fresh clean crisp Grecian white from the Peloponnese with low alcohol (11.5%) and quite dry but gentle flavour. Made largely from the local roditis grape with indigenous lagourthi and muscat. Located near Patras, Cavino is a dynamic family winery which was founded in 1958 and in 1999 the vineyard - Domain Mega Spileo was completely replanted with local and international grape varieties - from mavrodafne and assyrtiko to syrah and riesling. The Ionos range is unoaked, fresh and gentle. Forget old conceptions about Retsina - this is delicate, herby certainly with pine flavours, but fruity and moreish. Made from superior roditis grapes, organically cultivated, fermented in traditional clay jars (pitharia) from Crete with wild yeast but totally without the oxidation familiar to Greek café retsina. The vineyards of Tetramythos lie on the slopes of Mount Helmos, 450-1000m above sea level on limestone soil. Here the Mediterranean sun is less harsh and freshness is retained in the grapes.?
